The Rey Chair’s rounded contours and capacity to stack become the starting point. Repeated backrests and overlapping seats build a rhythm of curves, while a single red chair reveals the complete form. Colour brings an important register to the compositions, drawing on HAY’s playful approach to everyday objects. Soft highlights follow the wood grain and lacquered edges, giving the surfaces a tactile presence. Muted backdrops and photographic grain recall the warmth of an analogue studio portrait. Created through our AI practice, the project explores the chair as both a functional object and a form to compose with.
